Do I know you from somewhere?

Players not quite looking like themselves In the photo above, 23-year-old Damien Martyn , a batting artist who was his own man for much of his career, looks like a well-fed school prefect. Fifteen-year-old Azhar Ali is caught and bowled by 14-year-old Xavier Marshall (while 15-year-old Denesh Ramdin stands behind the wicket) at the World Challenge final, which West Indies won by two wickets, at Lord's. Virat Kohli before (at 19) and after (at 27) his fitness transformation. A 22-year-old Dennis Lillee , sans mo', during the 1972 Ashes. Richard Hadlee at 21, with big hair and no mo'. Graham Gooch , circa 1975, with a hairstyle that really needs to come back. Richie Benaud , at 19, looking more dashing than stately. Like Syed Kirmani , seen here, in 1971, with what looks like a combover. And Darren Lehmann , in the early '90s, with a full head of hair. Credits:-  https://goo.gl/YyQWA3

The XI Gordon Greenidge "If he was limping, watch out. And if he took a liking to a bowler, watch out some more. When he was in the mood, he could destroy a bowler almost at will, from the very first ball of an innings, if he took a shine to him."  Desmond Haynes   Conrad Hunte "Hunte's statistical record alone as an opener, and status alongside Sobers and Kanhai as successors to the legendary Three Ws, mark him as an exceptional talent in an all-conquering team. But his humanity, sense of fairness and contribution to the game - especially in South Africa - after his playing days elevate him to the ranks of the extraordinary."  Fazeer Mohammed   George Headley Between the wars, when the West Indies batting was often vulnerable and impulsive, Headley's scoring feats led to his being dubbed "the black Bradman". His devoted admirers responded by calling Bradman "the white Headley" - a pardon...

CricTVC| TOP 8 AUSTRALIAN ONE DAY CRICKET UNIFORMS OF THE 80S & 90S

Image
Here’s a list of my eight favourite Australian one-day uniforms from the 80s and 90s. Perhaps my fondness for these shirts is tinted by the canary-yellow glasses of my youth. 8. Benson and Hedges Challenge, 1987 A condensed one-off tournament in Perth pitting Australia against England, Pakistan and the West Indies, this shootout celebrated Australia’s America’s Cup defence. Both proved lost causes. 7. Whiteout, 1979-80 One-day cricket’s white album. England and the Windies were in town, but the prudish poms refused to wear coloured clothing – Derek Underwood was the only touring Englishman to have been part of Kerry Packer’s rainbow WSC cult. The tight Han Solo pants might be a dated look, but the simple colour blocking and subtle piping works. I’d swipe one of the sweaters in a heartbeat. 6. Southern Cross, 94-96 Forever immortalised by Michael Bevan’s statuesque SCG pose (and the camera crewman who wore one on the sidelines at the Super Bowl). Crick...
